Billy Idol

Billy Idol makes his feature film debut in The Doors. Idol first burst onto the world music scene in the mid-'70s as lead singer of the British punk band Generation X. When he saw that the punk movement was stagnating, Idol left London and relocated to New York.

While recording his self-titled album in 1982, he formed a partnership with producer Keith Forsey, and the two have worked together ever since, producing a string of hits beginning with Hot in the City, White Wedding and Dancing With Myself. The release in 1983 of Rebel Yell, an album which dominated the airwaves for more than a year, earned Idol a Grammy nomination and three huge hits -- the title track, Eyes Without a Face and Flesh for Fantasy.
